2020 Super Lap Battle: Circuit of the Americas, TX

The 2nd Annual Super Lap Battle at the Circuit of The Americas did not disappoint this year! With the addition of the Gridlife Touring Cup (GLTC), Cars and Coffee, and the growing car show, this event had everything an enthusiast or professional could want in a single exciting package.

Let’s take a look at what we experienced at this stunning Motorsport event. 3,000 Spectators and Growing

Lone Star Drift teamed up for the second year in a row and 742 Marketing helped bring the car show to life. This year, there were over 45 time attack drivers, over 15 Gridlife GTLC competitors, over 120 registered cars for the show, and over 900 cars for the Cars and Coffee event.

The Super Lap Battle continues to grow. Not only were there 3,000 spectators in attendance, but we were also proud to host two World Time Attack Legends: Brett Dickie and Barton Mower from Australia.

And it wasn’t just about the race! A car show throughout the weekend drew quite a bit of attention (and even raised some money for a local charity). It was everything an enthusiast could hope for and more.

Nick Stentiford’s Honda S2000

Nick Stentiford represented R1Concepts by competing in the Gridlife Touring Cup and finished in the top 10. Stentiford competed in the time attack format last year at this event on our R1 Carbon GEOMET Series Rotors. This year, he upgraded to our R1 Forged Series Big Brake Kit and was able to go even faster and be more competitive in the open wheel GLTC event.

The specs for Nick Stentiford’s Honda S2000:

We’re incredibly proud of this performance and honored for this showing. This event is becoming more competitive every year, and we anticipate some great things in the future. Congratulations Nick!

Looking into the Future with the Annual Super Lap Battle

The 2nd Annual Super Lap Battle is going to be even bigger for 2021, and the future of time attack here in North America is rapidly growing — and will continue to grow for years to come. Media sponsors included The World Time Attack News, MCV Imagery, Motolyric, WWLCNetwork, Motoiq, and SHRT Films — and this list is expected to expand for 2021. Sanctioned by SCCA Pro Racing, the Annual Super Lap Battle can be found on Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube.
